Aurora Lakeland Medical Center’s 27th Annual Benefit Ball was held Saturday, May 12, 2012 in Lake Geneva and raised $110,000.
Proceeds from this year’s Benefit Ball will be used to purchase a state-of-the art Holmium Laser for urological procedures that will eliminate the need for additional surgery and prevent unnecessary hospitalization.
“This successful event would not be possible without the leadership and dedication of our volunteer committee members. Their hard work reflects the community support of our local hospital and enhances our comprehensive services allowing patients to stay close to home,” said Vicki Lewis, president of Aurora Lakeland Medical Center and Aurora Memorial Hospital of Burlington.
This year’s Honorary Chairperson was Dr. Garth Schneider, a dedicated physician who has served the community for the past 28 years in both family and internal medicine
The Humanitarian Award was presented to Dr. Cary and Mrs. Maureen Berkowitz in recognition of their 30 years of outstanding volunteer efforts.
The annual event was organized by a community volunteer committee, including Maureen Berkowitz, Marianne Bonifacic, Janet Giovannetti, Kathy Hartman, Irene Humphrey, Terri Jambor, Jennifer Jones, Vicki Lewis, Genna Monticello, Alice Morava, Mary Ovitz, Kathleen Skowlund, Cathy Slovick, Rita Stensland, Donna Surinak, Michelle Weber and Wendy Weiner.
