Hope, as in Aurora’s Team Hope from the Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, made quite the impression as caregivers, friends, and family members took part in this year’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk.
The walk took place around Discovery World on Milwaukee’s lakefront.
The spectacular team, headed up by team captain Carol Paul, included: Eileen Fiedler, Nichole Walter, Tammy Harrison, Michelle Harbaugh, Kathleen Leitzke, Scott Leitzke, Brianna Leitzke, Kim Pryor, and Jim Pryor. With this Hope Team made up of family, friends, neighbors, colleagues, and most importantly breast cancer survivors they made their mark. And in doing so they raised over: $1,289.
They walk to remember those they lost, to find a cure, give inspiration, and offer fighting team spirit!
Ashley Wissinger of the American Cancer Society, Midwest Division congratulated Carol and Aurora Team Hope on “being one of the top teams for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, We appreciate your hard work and dedication you showed to get to the top!”
While the weather was not ideal, the team brought its own version of sunshine — looking stunning in their teal t-shirts, and sharing a feeling of accomplishment. Their commitment and effort provided just another dash of Hope in this battle against cancer.
