Hundreds of Milwaukee’s “foodies” came together for the fight against cancer at the 9th annual Lombardi Food & Wine Experience on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2-3, 2013.
The Tasting Gala featured extravagant displays by Nehring’s Family Markets and Hawk’s Nursery, and highlighted tastings and samplings from 25 regional restaurants and 30+ wineries and breweries. For the night owls, the chefs’ at Aurora Health Care put on a spectacular display of ice carvings with desserts and martinis at “Late Night at the Rouge.”
The Celebrity Chef & Wine Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 3, featured a 6-course meal prepared by Chef Ken Frank of Napa Valley’s La Toque. Each course was expertly paired with wines from Napa’s Failla Wines and Robert Sinsky Vineyards. Supporting local fare was Andy Hatch from Uplands Cheese in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, who provided the evening’s cheese course.
