Sponsors and attendees of Aurora Health Care Foundation’s 29th Annual Benefit Ball, held on Saturday, May 10 at Geneva National helped to raise $141,000 that will be directed toward purchasing 16 non-invasive cardiac support units for Walworth County emergency medical providers.
The units work by placing a band around a patient’s chest giving high quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR. These devices work continuously to constrict the entire chest instead of compressing it as a person would, improving blood flow in a cardiac emergency.
“Because of the generosity of physicians, caregivers, volunteers and supporters of Aurora Lakeland Medical Center, we will be assisting others during their most critical moment. When minutes and seconds count, it is important to equip the emergency responders with the best tools available for people experiencing cardiac arrest,” said Michelle Weber, Director, Foundation Development at Aurora Health Care Foundation.
