Many thanks to the sponsors, donors and nearly 115 golfers who participated in the Aurora Golf Classic to benefit Aurora Zilber Family Hospice on June 20 at Chenequa Country Club. More than $120,000 was raised to help provide more people with quality, compassionate end-of-life care with dignity and respect.
This year, Aurora Health Care Foundation partnered with two-time All-Star and Milwaukee Brewers fan favorite, Jeff Cirillo. Each team had the opportunity to golf with Jeff Cirillo at Hole 3.

All proceeds from the Aurora Golf Classic will benefit Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, which is celebrating 10 years of providing compassionate end-of-life-care.
Jeff Cirillo shared with attendees that he visited Aurora Zilber Family Hospice before the golf outing. Jeff said, “I didn’t realize that Aurora Zilber Family Hospice cared for children, but they do. I had the opportunity to meet a 6-year-old boy. He was on a Little League team and loves baseball. His family shared that he is a Brewers fan and he even had his Brewer shirt on when I visited with him. I realized during that visit the caregivers at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice provide more than care, they provide comfort, compassion and love – not only to the patient, but to the family members.
From the staff in the Comfort Café, who made sure this young patient had his favorite foods – cheeseburgers and chocolate malts – to the volunteers who stay with him at times when family members can’t be there. One of his favorite things is to have his feet rubbed and the volunteers are always willing to rub his feet and make him feel comfortable.
As a father, seeing how hard caregivers at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice work to bring a little light into such a sad situation really impressed me and made me proud to lend my name to this event. It’s an honor for me to be part of something so meaningful.”
