McGMO raises $55,000 for cancer care in Racine and Walworth Counties

It was another successful golf outing for the Founders of the McGMO Golf Outing. $55,000 was raised to benefit cancer care in the community. Proceeds from the event will be directed to support a new comprehensive cancer center serving western Racine and Walworth Counties. This event is eligible for a match by the Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation.

The new cancer center will feature 25 medical oncology infusion bays, 10 exam rooms, one outpatient procedure room, as well as space for complementary support services like integrative medicine therapies that focus on wellness and healing. Established in 1998 in memory of Dean McGregor, Ivan Grover, Calvin Monroe, who lost their battles with cancer and for Kim O’Keefe, a courageous cancer survivor. McGMO benefits cancer patients throughout Walworth County and its surrounding communities.

Throughout the years, McGMO has raised more than $700,000 to provide comfort care items for people who are battling cancer. A few of the items and services McGMO funded includes: blanket warmers, breast suction unit, CD players, Stereotactic biopsy unit, fourth exam room, cancer care nurse navigator and laptops for patient use.

The date for next year’s McGMO Golf Outing is Friday, July 29 at Delbrook Golf Course in Delavan, Wis. Sign up and participate in a local golf outing that truly benefits local people. You never know if it will be your friend, neighbor or loved one who benefits from the care.
